Purple K powder is a kind of potassium bicarbonate as the base material, through a unique chemical formula and processing technology to produce dry powder fire extinguishing agent, because the flame is Purple blue when extinguishing, its trade name is usually called Purple K.
Application
Purple K dry powder is non-toxic, non-corrosion, anti-caking, with good water resistance, fluidity, is one of the most effective dry powder extinguishing agents for extinguishing Class B fires. Purple K dry powder can be used to extinguish fires of flammable liquids, oils (Class B) and gases (Class C) as well as fires of live electrical equipment (Class E).
The fire extinguishing performance of purple K dry powder is 4-5 times that of carbon dioxide and more than 2 times that of sodium bicarbonate dry powder. Purple K dry powder fire extinguishers can be used in the temperature range of -54 ~ +55℃.
Purple K powder is commonly used in oil refineries, airport tarmac, gas stations, military facilities, navy ships, power plants and other places that need to handle large amounts of flammable liquids. It is used in combination with the foam extinguishing agent AFFF to form a two-component system with extremely high fire extinguishing effectiveness and is commonly installed on airport fire fighting equipment.
Purple K powder can be used in a wide range of applications, from small handheld fire extinguishers to large mobile and stationary fire extinguishers, including fixed nozzle piping systems.
